Professional Learning Course: 

Maximizing Learning Potential with Blended Learning and Differentiation in K-12 Classroom

Learners will design a lesson and implement a comprehensive lesson plan with a blended learning teaching strategy focusing on differentiating activities based on the learners' needs to increase the student's overall academic performance.

Fostering Collaboration

Collaboration is crucial to the success of professional learning. Collaboration is known to boost morale across the organization (Moseley,2019) It can create a supportive and inclusive learning environment where participants feel that their voices are heard, valued, and respected, contributing to the professional learning objective. To foster collaboration, the participants will engage in group activities where they will work together to discuss case studies, create a lesson plan, and solve various problems. There will be discussion forums to keep participants engaged. Participants will also be encouraged to give constructive feedback on each other’s work to promote a culture of collaboration, and monthly virtual meetings will help to share experiences and foster real-life interaction opportunities.

Who will Lead

Professional learning will be a collaborative effort by different individuals to ensure effective collaboration. I will be the course facilitator with the help of the curriculum and instructions team; this means we will provide instructions, guidance, and resources on blended learning. The facilitators will be the curriculum team and administrative staff; their role is to facilitate discussion during collaborative work both in person and online; the facilitators will ensure participants are actively participating, provide them with guidance, and facilitate meaningful exchange of ideas and feedback among the participants. The technical support team will be available to assess any technical difficulties the participants and facilitators might encounter.

Audience and Needs

The audience of this professional learning is primarily for K-12Educators. Administrators and instructional coaches will also attend professional learning and, later on, will assume the roles of facilitators and mentors on their campuses. The needs of the audience vary, for a start all audiences will need an electronic device such as a laptop and tablet. The audience's goal is to gain knowledge, for them to attain this goal, they need to gain a better understanding of how effective differentiation is done in the classroom. They also need to understand how to integrate blended learning practices in their respective classrooms. They will be given various resources and instructional materials, continuous professional development and check-ins, and opportunities to collaborate with peers.
